Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a government registry office?
No. We are private celebrants providing a registry-style, paperwork-only marriage service. We are not NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages.
How do we get started?
Click Get Married, fill out the booking form, and pay the fee.
What happens after we book?
After booking, you prepare your NOIM, have it witnessed by an authorised witness, and send the paperwork to us. We can help, and NOIM Easy makes the form much simpler.
When is our date confirmed?
Your date, time, and place are confirmed after the paperwork has been received and we have checked our availability. They are not locked in just because you first enquired.
What is included on the day?
A short legal marriage with the required wording, signatures, and documents. This is not a full wedding ceremony.
Do we need witnesses?
Yes. Australian law requires two witnesses aged 18 or over. If you need help with witnesses, ask us about the witness service.
How much notice do we need?
Your NOIM must usually be given to your celebrant at least one month before the marriage, and no more than 18 months before it.
Can we get married online?
No. In Australia, the couple, the celebrant, and the two witnesses must all be physically present for the marriage ceremony.
Do you do elopements or full weddings?
No. If you want an elopement, use Elopement Collective. If you want a full wedding ceremony, use Josh Withers.
What certificate do we get?
You receive a ceremonial certificate on the day. If you need the official marriage certificate, you order that separately from NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages after registration.
